General description of conveyor belt washers
BAUFOR's belt washers clean, degrease and dry metal or plastic parts as a continuous process by spraying. They can also incorporate areas for surface treatment to be performed, such as descaling, phosphating or passivation.
The parts are transported by means of a conveyor belt with adjustable speed. Loading is performed at the front and unloading at the rear, and may be manual or automatic.
In the design of a conveyor belt washer consideration is given to such factors as output, cleaning requirements or the space available on the client's premises.
Belt washers have a compact design and solid build quality. They are extremely reliable machines, even under the harshest working conditions.
BAUFOR's belt washers are designed and built to measure for the client, based on its individual needs and the characteristics of the parts to be washed/degreased.
Cleaning, degreasing and drying of parts in one or multiple stages
Industrial belt washers can comprise one or multiple treatment stages, depending on the client's individual needs. The different washing zones have separate tanks with their own pumps, pipelines and filtering systems, with the internal design avoiding as far as possible any seepage of the solution between zones, allowing different products to be used on the same parts washer.
BAUFOR conveyor parts washers can include stages such as one or more washes, rinsing, blowing, drying and complex processes such as phosphating, descaling, etc.
Parts can be washed/degreased externally and/or internally, and if the geometric characteristics of the parts to be treated so require can be fitted with dedicated or calibrated nozzles to wash problematic areas such as blind holes, cavities and areas which are in general hard to access.
BAUFOR tunnel washers can incorporate single or dual bag filters between the pressure pump and the spray nozzles. This serves to eliminate the recirculation of the particles eliminated from the parts during spraying.
The pipelines are fitted with butterfly valves and pressure gauges for improved control of the pressure which the nozzles apply to the top and bottom of the belt. Depending on the weight of the parts, the setting can be adjusted.
The wheel type oil skimmer and the emptying tank are two further available optional elements. The oil skimmer helps lengthen the lifespan of the mixture while the emptying pump facilitates cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Positioning of the parts on the conveyor belt
The parts are transported using a stainless steel adjustable speed conveyor belt. The belt normally comprises interlinked mesh sections which allow the water sprayed from below to pass through, and allow the parts to be dried from below, all with the minimum seepage of liquid.
The parts can be placed directly on the belt, with pushers, special supports, guides... Often several "routes" or "transport pathways" can be arranged for different types of part, which are then separated to avoid any mixing.
The selected conveyor belt allows the parts to be washed and dried from above and below. Any seepage of water is minimal.
In some cases special supports may need to be manufactured. For example, in order to facilitate the discharge of water from pipes with a blind end.
The separator pushers are another very commonly employed method for the transportation of parts. They prevent any change in position and maintain a specific distance between the parts.
Accessibility
Accessibility inside the parts washers for cleaning and maintenance tasks is an aspect to which we give particular importance when designing the machine.
Our belt washers are for this reason fitted with marine-type inspection hatches in the chambers and tank, along with access covers at the top. If the length of the chambers so permits, the tunnel washers may use a hinged cowling, facilitating complete access to the inside.
The covers at the top facilitate maintenance tasks such as the disassembly of pipelines and collectors for cleaning.
The hinged cowling provides completely unimpeded access inside the machine. They are fitted with a safety micro-switch.
The side inspection hatches simplify access inside the chambers and facilitate tasks such as the replacement or cleaning of nozzles.
Standard features
Stainless steel chip-baskets
After the degreasing solution has been sprayed onto the parts, it then all passes through the filtering box to eliminate any small solid particles from the circuit, preventing them from being fed into the pump. Accessible via the tank lid and easy to clean.
Low solution level shut-off and automatic water fill
The inductive detector maintains the level in each tank between set parameters by operating the pneumatic electrical valve to automatically refill with water. This guarantees that the level covers the heat elements at all times.
Vertical pumps
Except in very specific cases, BAUFOR's tunnel washers are fitted with vertical submersible pumps. Fitted with a filter to prevent any object which may have fallen into the tank (rags, paper, etc.) from being sucked in.
Heat and sound insulation
All our conveyor belt washers are heat insulated as standard to prevent any heat loss, thereby saving energy. Heat insulation prevents the outer surfaces from reaching high temperatures. The same insulation also reduces the sound level generated by the machine, to comply with legal noise standards.
Exhaust fan
The exhaust fan extracts the humid air out of the pass-through washer, helping to dry the parts and preventing the formation of mist clouds in the loading zone. Once the machine has been installed, it will need a chimney leading to the outside to be fitted.
Drying fan
The drying fan ensures that the air in the drying chamber constantly circulates. The air is drawn across the heating elements and pumped to the nozzles distributed along the zone, which then direct the hot air onto the parts. In order to reduce the humidity of the air, an adjustable air intake grille is fitted.
Motor/gearbox/variator unit
This is responsible for moving the conveyor belt and adjusting its speed. At the axle connection a clutch is fitted to protect against excess strain such as overloading or snagging due to poor loading of parts.
Miscellaneous
Pressure control gauges and valves. Reinforced tank heating elements. Emergency shut-offs in the loading zone, unloading zone and control panel. Digital temperature controllers. Inspection hatches with safety switch. Drainage valves. Stainless steel silhouettes with the part profile or synthetic rubber curtains. Adjustable belt tensioners.
Optional accessories
Oil Mist Collectors
This extracts the mist from inside the parts washer and uses centrifugal impaction to separate the water, which is then returned to the machine. It does not need any chimney to be installed as the clean air is fed back into the working environment.
BAUFOR oil coalescer
The best method for eliminating large quantities of oil. In a separate tank fitted with a screw pump to prevent mixture and guarantee the oil is eliminated. Considerably lengthens the lifespan of the degreasing solution.
Wheel type oil skimmer
Removes floating oil from the solution using a continuous rotating disc. Fitted in the tank alongside the deposit to avoid any turbulence caused by the pump. Lengthens the lifespan of the aqueous solution.
Emptying tank
Allows maintenance tasks such as washing the base of the tank to be performed with complete ease. Emptying can be performed manually or automatically. Fitted with induction level detector and pump.
Filtering systems
Our conveyor washers can be fitted with filters to improve filtering. Bag, cartridge or single or multiple basket filters. Fitted with a "filter dirty" alert indicator.
Automatic detergent dosing
Injects the desired percentage of cleaning product into the water. It works by volumetric proportion, guaranteeing the mixture percentage irrespective of any change in pressure or flow rate.
Automatic device and operator panel
Automation of working and control processes by means of a control panel with touchscreen. They typically feature a manual mode, automatic mode, component test, temperature indicators, element programming...
Programmable heating timer
BAUFOR pass-through parts washers need to reach an optimum temperature to work effectively. The programmer can be used to plan the start-up of the elements prior to working hours seven days a week.
Any component the client may wish
BAUFOR industrial parts washers stand out because they are designed to measure. Any component which the client may wish can therefore be fitted to the parts washer.
